Comments:

A lot has happened in the four years since I signed on here. I retired from being a contractor and Architectural designer. I became an ordained minister. I have been on 21 mission trips. Most to third world countries. Four trips were to the Philippines. I am building Church additions, remodeling homes, helping indigent people, and evangelizing. Since my first trip in 2009, we have been blessed to lead over 19,000 to Christ. I am currently raising funds to return next year and will be there one year. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

School Story:

I would like to use this space to thank someone that changed my life. I was in the 10th grade and was struggling. My grades were bad and I had a terrible attitude. I didn't care much for anyone or anything. One day, a guidance councilor came to me and asked me if she could talk with me. I was not excited. I must confess that the only reason I agreed to talk was because I knew I could get out of going to class. We spent many hours together. She gave me several test in an attempt to find what my interest were and what natural talents I might possess. One day she came in with a test that she had borrowed from a friend of hers at a college. She told me that this was a four-year college graduate test and it would last for 30 minutes. She instructed me that I would not be able to finish the test because it was so complex and difficult, but she wanted me to do my best to see if I had any abilities in that area. Twenty-seven minutes into the 30 minute time, I was through and was sitting there popping my pencil on the table. She came in and asked me what I was doing. I informed her that I was finished. With sarcasm, she responded, "Yeah, right!"
She took the test and graded it. I only missed one. This changed my life. She immediately signed me up into drafting where I spent the remaining time cramming as many hours as I could into this course. I have designed over 200 homes in this area and 8 Churches along with numerous commercial buildings in the triad area. My favorite is at 320 E. Commerce Street in High Point which is a mock up of Forbidden City. After I designed the building, they hired me as Construction Manager and I got to see the project through from the inside. This was all possible because one person took the time to help another.
Her name was Mrs. Lane.
I called her about 10 years ago and found out that she had quit school because of a nervous breakdown. I told her my story and the affect she had on my life. I thanked her for hanging with me even though I was a young squirt. She cried for 10 minutes. She said she was so thankful that she had made a positive impression on one persons life. I feel there are a lot of people out there that can write a story to say thanks to Mrs. Lane.
THANK YOU AGAIN MRS. LANE. GOD WILL BLESS YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATION.
