I guess Max was the first of our classmates to die. He was killed in an auto accident across from the old airport that used to be on Market Street. He was a great guy and had a great sense of humor.
One time I got to sit beside Max on the school bus.....I thought he was so cute.....but I was so shy I'm sure I didn't speak to him. Seems like I remember him acting silly and making everyone around laugh. And later on when I saw Steve McQueen in the movies, he reminded me so much of Max.
